Creamy Beef Pasta

A comforting and creamy beef pasta dish perfect for cozy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add in the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Don’t forget to reserve about ½ cup of pasta water before draining!
  2. Sauté the aromatics: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Toss in the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Brown the beef: Increase heat to medium-high and add ground beef. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in the cream: Reduce heat to medium and pour in heavy cream, stirring to combine.
  5. Add cheese and create the sauce: Gradually sprinkle in grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
  6. Combine with pasta: Add drained pasta to the skillet and toss with the sauce until coated.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Plate generously and garnish with more cheese and fresh basil if desired.

Notes

For a veggie-loaded version, include mushrooms, bell peppers, or spinach. Adjust garlic and cheese depending on preference.
