One Pot Creamy Garlic Butter Steak Orzo

A hearty and comforting one-pot dish featuring succulent steak, creamy garlic butter sauce, and perfectly cooked orzo. Quick to prepare, perfect for weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Sear the steak: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sirloin steak pieces and season generously with salt and pepper. Sear for about 3-4 minutes until browned on all sides. Remove the steak and set aside.
  2. Sauté the garlic: Lower the heat and add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
  3. Add the orzo: Stir in the orzo and toast it lightly in the garlic oil for about 2 minutes.
  4. Incorporate the broth: Pour in the beef broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a low boil, then reduce heat and cover the skillet. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the orzo absorbs most of the liquid.
  5. Cream it up: When the orzo is almost cooked, stir in the heavy cream and return the cooked steak to the skillet. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Finish with cheese and butter: Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and butter until melted and creamy. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  7. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving directly from the skillet.

Notes
