A comforting and classic spaghetti with meat sauce recipe that brings warmth and nostalgia to your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • Spaghetti
  • Ground Beef or Sausage
  • Onion, Chopped
  • Garlic, Minced
  • Canned Tomatoes (Crushed or Diced)
  • Tomato Paste
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Parmesan Cheese (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by boiling the spaghetti: Fill a large pot with salted water and bring it to a rolling boil. Toss in your spaghetti and set a timer based on package directions, typically 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  2. Sauté your aromatics: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Once hot, add chopped onion and sauté for 3-5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Cook the meat: Increase heat to medium-high and add ground beef or sausage. Brown evenly for about 5 minutes, stirring often.
  4. Add the tomatoes and seasonings: Once the meat is browned, add canned tomatoes and tomato paste, then sprinkle in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for at least 15 minutes on low heat.
  5. Combine pasta and sauce: Reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain spaghetti. Add drained spaghetti to the sauce and toss to coat.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the sauce simmer longer than 15 minutes. Consider adding vegetables or trying variations like vegetarian options.
