  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for peaches)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for batter)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the sliced peaches, 1 cup of granulated sugar, water, and lemon juice in a large bowl. Stir gently and let sit for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Melt the butter in a 9×13 inch baking dish in the oven until bubbly, about 5 minutes.
  4. Whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg in a mixing bowl until just combined.
  5. Pour the prepared batter over the melted butter. Spoon the peach mixture and syrup on top without stirring.
  6. Bake your peach cobbler for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
