Crockpot BBQ Chicken

An easy and delicious recipe for pulled chicken made in a crockpot, perfect for gatherings and weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (trimmed of excess fat)
  • 1 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep your chicken by removing any excess fat and patting it dry.
  2. Whisk together the barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a medium bowl.
  3. Add the chicken breasts to the bottom of the crockpot and pour the sauce over them.
  4. Set the crockpot to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  5. Shred the chicken once cooked and return it to the sauce in the crockpot.
  6. Let it sit on warm for about 20 minutes to allow flavors to mingle.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving.

Notes

Great served on toasted hamburger buns with coleslaw or over a fresh green salad.
