Ghost Cupcakes

Whimsical Ghost Cupcakes topped with silky buttercream, perfect for Halloween gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup buttercream frosting
  • Chocolate chips, for eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy—about 3–4 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Pour in the vanilla extract and mix again.
  5. Combine the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, alternating between the two, starting and ending with flour.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner about ⅔ of the way full with batter.
  7. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cupcakes in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Frost the cooled cupcakes with frosting and use mini chocolate chips for eyes to create ghostly faces.

Notes

For gluten-free cupcakes, swap all-purpose flour with a gluten-free baking flour blend. You can personalize frosting colors and add flavors to the batter for variations.
