  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Gather all your ingredients and pre-chop your vegetables.
  2. Cook the meat: Heat olive oil in a skillet, add onion and garlic, then cook until soft. Add ground meat and cook until browned.
  3. Add the vegetables: Stir in mixed veggies and cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the red wine and let it simmer for 5 minutes to reduce.
  5. Combine broth and season: Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Prepare the mash: Make your mashed potatoes, aiming for a creamy texture.
  7. Assemble the pie: Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish, top with mashed potatoes.
  8. Bake to perfection: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden.
  9. Serve it up: Let the pie rest for a few minutes before serving.
