  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9-inch round cake pan with grease and flour.
  3. Mash the ripe bananas in a bowl.
  4. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time and mix well.
  6. Stir in the mashed bananas and buttermilk until combined.
  7. Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together, then gradually fold into the wet mixture.
  8. Gently fold in nuts and chocolate chips if using.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
